The real estate market in San Diego showed steady momentum during November, with both home sales and housing inventory on the rise. San Diego home Buyers are finding more options, while Sellers in San Diego continue to benefit from resilient home prices.
Detached home sales increased by 2.9 percent compared to October and 14.8 percent year-over-year. Attached homes, like condos and townhomes, saw a 5.9 percent boost in closed sales from last year. Homes are staying on the market slightly longer, with an average of 25 days before closing compared to 19 days on market last November.
November 2024 San Diego Housing Market Update
San Diego home prices remain solid despite rising inventory. The median sale price in San Diego for detached homes rose to $1,027,750 — a 4.4 percent increase from last year. Attached homes, including condos & townhomes, saw a smaller increase with the median price reaching $674,475 — up 1.4 percent year-over-year. This stable price growth shows a market balancing increased housing inventory with steady demand.
Housing inventory of homes for sale in San Diego surged during November, giving Buyers more options to choose from. Detached home listings increased by 23 percent, while attached home inventory grew by 38.4 percent. This means more listing choices available for Buyers, while Sellers still see healthy demand.

In November, the zip codes in San Diego County with the most home sales were:
- 92028 (Fallbrook) with 34
- 92117 (Clairemont) with 31
- 92057 (Oceanside North) with 26
- 92123 (Serra Mesa) with 23
- 92064 (Poway) and 92126 (Mira Mesa), both with 22
These areas represent some of the most popular housing markets in San Diego with suburban homes for sale and more affordable properties available, as compared to neighborhoods just West of I-5 along the coast.
